i haven't gotten to play this yet, but just knowing that this exists makes me very excited, as i want to try to make a cooking sim through renpy! I was just about to give up deciding it couldn't be done, but then i saw this and it's given me hope again! It's really amazing what you can do with this engine with just a little creativity
thank you for checking out my game! creating something like a ‘cooking sim’ in ren’py sounds difficult but i dont think its impossible imo :o TLC is a very rough rudimentary idea of a simulator (clicking on things and putting ingredients together in a list) but i think it was a good foundation for a basic idea should i ever decide to make something a little more complicated. :) i recommend checking out ‘a tavern for tea’ by npckc and ‘va-11 hall-a’ (which was originally made in ren’py before they switched to gamemaker), which follow the same premise of being a drink-making sim! maybe they can help somehow!
best of luck with your own ideas! id love to give it a play should it come to fruition :)
I just completed the game after having it in my list for a little while. It was very relaxing, a nice moment just to read lines and relate to a character.
Although, I do wonder what you used to create the game! It motivated me to want to make one myself.
thank you for the kind comment! i used ren’py to put everything together, though i did also use clip studio paint to illustrate the art. i believe shaun(taro) used photoshop to work on the backgrounds, and temathy(tainment) used ableton to make the tunes!
I played through this a couple times earlier today. It's bittersweet; the moral (at least what I managed to glean) is liberating and disheartening at the same time. Delightful art. Chill, slightly melancholic vibe. Worth the play, for sure. Thank you for making this treat of a game~
such an absolute delight. i found this game because im new to development and wanted to learn from it's design, but after a few playthroughs i just completely fell in love with it. so charming, cozy, funny, and all around wholesome in the best way. it even featured a drink that used to be a major part of my routine! i highly recommend anyone looking for a mood booster, good art, or just a way to pass some time give this game a try
